Leather Crafting

Leather crafting is one of the oldest crafts known to mankind. Leather was considered a status symbol in Ancient Rome. Wealthy Romans carried coins in leather purses around their waist. This practice soon spread to different cultures around Europe.

Italian ateliers have a history of excellent workmanship and Italian leather is world-renowned for its finishing. In Italy, the art of leather crafting is a closely guarded secret passed down from father to son.

Knife Making

In Italy, the history of knife making traces back to Ancient Rome. Back then, many farmers were also knife makers as cutlery work brought extra income for the families. It is a combination of grinding, forging the blade, and shaping the handle. Knife blades were made from bronze, copper, and brass.

Knife handles can be made out of many materials - aluminum, bone, horn, ivory, titanium, wood. The carvings on a knife handle are traditionally a reflection of the culture and history of a particular region.

When you buy an Italian knife, you are not only buying an exceptional masterpiece but also the Italian heritage.
